Plan your material quantities before ordering. Measure the actual area or fence run, then use the product dimensions and the design chosen for your project.
Gravel volume
Length (m) × width (m) × depth (mm) ÷ 1,000 = volume (m³). For example, 4m × 3m at an example depth of 50mm gives 0.60m³. Choose the depth for your project; this example is not an installation specification.
For a gravel weight estimate, multiply the volume by 1,500kg per m³. The example above gives 900kg before any extra allowance. Actual weights vary by material. Choose Bulk Bag, Loose Load, Mini Bulk Bag or Mini Bag. The calculator divides the estimated gravel weight by the advertised minimum pack weight (750kg, 750kg, 250kg or 20kg respectively) and rounds up to whole bags or loads. Send TMG your dimensions and product choice if you need help checking the quantity.
Fencing quantities
Work from the board’s installed cover width, allowing for the chosen gaps or overlaps. Check each bay and each separate run. Include posts, rails, suitable fixings, post concrete and any gate hardware in your list.
